Sean is 100% pro-choice and believes every woman should make her own health care decisions regardless of her income, her race, where she works, or how she gets her insurance.

Sean believes in supporting and expanding women’s rights and opportunities — by protecting reproductive rights, fighting for equal pay for equal work, defending women subjected to harassment and abuse, and much more.

In Congress, Sean:

• Cosponsored and helped pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act into law, which fills gaps in existing domestic violence laws. He also introduced an amendment to add campus faculty to grant programs to train them to recognize domestic and sexual abuse.
• Cosponsored the Paycheck Fairness Act to ensure that women receive the same pay as their male counterparts.
• Cosponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act which will protect the right to access abortion care throughout the United States.
• Cosponsored the Abortion is Health Care Everywhere Act which would repeal the Helms Amendment, which attacks reproductive rights by banning the use of U.S. foreign assistance funds on abortion services overseas. Repealing the Helms Amendment is a critical step toward achieving reproductive and economic freedom and equity for millions worldwide.

Too often, our laws and culture fall short on granting women true equality. Sean believes that we must take bold action to address our shortfalls as a country.
